No more isolation for passengers from Samoa to Pago

The America Samoa Department of Health has clarified that all arriving travelers who test negative for Covid-19 self monitor and not be subject to self quarantine or self isolation as in the past.

KHJ News asked Acting Clinical Director of Health, Dr Elizabeth Lauvao, to explain the rules after travelers from Samoa last week were told upon arrival at the airport they have to stay home for five consecutive days.

Yet travelers from Hawaii were seen in public even just a day or two after they returned on island.

Dr Lauvao said whoever was giving out information to travelers from Samoa was incorrect.

All arrivals have to self monitor, that is they need to check their health conditions daily but they can leave their homes and be out and about.

They have to wear masks at all times.
