NUS hosts research professionals from both local and overseas

The National University of Samoa is hosting a research conference with professionals from both local and overseas.

In a statement released indicated that delegates from Victoria University of Wellington and Otago University including selected NUS staff will have a unique opportunity to present their recent research findings, share research ideas and best practice while networking with university colleagues and students.

It will also allow all NUS academic professionals and postgraduate students to learn about research across a range of disciplines and to observe various presentation styles.

“Simultaneously, it will encourage professional development in presenting and research supervision.

“The conference program is designed in a manner to allow delegates to both explore issues pertinent to their own area of work and engage with other professionals from different areas of expertise.

“Throughout the course of two days, there will be twenty-seven presentations this morning and afternoon for the duration of two days.”

According to the statement, the topics will include, health, employment, offshore investments, assessments, education, culture, law & politics, science, environment, climate change, tourism and open distance learning.

“On Tuesday afternoon, there will be two practical sessions for professional development with substantial coffee breaks and lunch to allow participants to greet and mingle.

All sessions will be held in the NUS D201 Lecture Theatre with the registration fee of SAT$50 per person (but SAT$30 per student), payable at the front door with their student ID cards.

The one- time fee will cover both days of the Samoa Research Conference at the National University of Samoa.
