OEC confirms Vaimauga No3 roll will temporarily close on 27 Jan


The Office of the Electoral Commission gives notice to the Electoral Constituency of Vaimauga No3 that it will temporarily close its electoral roll on 27 January 2023 as per directive by a Warrant from the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. 

Li’o Papalii Taeu Masipa’u issued a warrant for the Electoral Commissioner to proceed with the Writ for Bi-election for Vaimauga No.3 to elect a Member of Parliament to fill the vacant seat following the passing of Tapunuu Niko Lee Hang.

According to a notice issued by the Acting Electoral Commissioner Mauga Fetogi Vaai yesterday their office calls on all eligible voters of the said constituency, they will be carrying out voter registration services at their office from 11 to 27 January at their main office in Mulinuu. 

From 16 – 26 January 2023 the Office of the Electoral Commission will conduct a door-to-door registration program within the Vaimauga NO.3 district and all eligible voters that have not registered are advised to tie a white cloth in front of their residences to indicate that the registration services are required.
