Deputy Police Commissioner Papalii Monalisa Tiai Keti has confirmed the death of a teenager last evening, in relation to a car accident that happened at Tapatapao.
Papalii told Radio Polynesia the Police received a phone call after 4 pm yesterday, alerting them of a car accident at Tapatapao. According to preliminary reports, indicates that a Toyota pickup drove off the main road into a ditch nearby.
Killing one of the passengers, a 19-year-old female and wounding three others including the driver.
Papalii says, it’s unclear at this time how and why it happened, but the survivors of the car accident were taken to the hospital right away.
Police are continuing their investigation.
