The Police also arrested a man in relation to the hit and run two weeks ago at Vailoa. Police Commissioner Auapa’a Logoitino Filipo confirmed this in response to Radio Polynesia questions.
He said the man was apprehended and has been remanded into the custody of the Police until his criminal mention on 16 October 2023.
According to the Commissioner, Police followed up with solid leads that led to the arrest over the weekend. As reported earlier, Police issued an appeal to members of the public for information on the incident around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, 24 September, 2023.
According to Police, the incident led to the death of a female pedestrian due to the severity of her injuries. The incident in Vailoa happened near the petrol station, and the vehicle believed to be involved is a white Getz.
