The Ministry of Police and Prisons, Traffic Enforcement Team have begun its sobriety routine checks.
Commissioner of Police Auapa’u Logoitino Filipo told Radio Polynesia, warns members of public not to drink and drive otherwise they will be arrested.
“The Traffic officers conducted their routine check at the town clock and in front of ASCO Motors at Savalalo on Friday night 2nd of September 2022 and concluded in the early hours of Saturday morning 3rd of September 2022.
“SPPCS continues to initiate these checkpoints to ensure the safety of all road users.
And it is with this regard, that the public is advised that Police will continue to monitor unlicensed drivers, unlicensed vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol, unsafe vehicles, additional light, and other infringement offences to reduce road fatalities.”
