The Ministry of Police and Prisons are investigating a vehicle that was on fire in Afega in broad daylight yesterday.
“Fortunately, no one was injured as a result.
“The vehicle that was ablaze is still a mystery as to how it occurred and the Police are looking into it,” said Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Papalii Efo Moalele in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
The fire incident occurred right across from the Afega Police outpost. The vehicle in question belongs to Vodafone company, said the Police.
Papalii said the Police investigation is underway, however this is separate from the Fire Emergency Services Authority investigation.
