More than 10 Police Officers have recovered from COVID and are back to work. This was confirmed by Deputy Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
As of Thursday, close to 150 Police Officers have tested positive, and are in isolation.
But Auapa’au shared the good news today that some Police Officers have recovered and have reported back to duty as of yesterday.
He said Police Officers are back on eight-hour shifts after evaluating their daily operational plan to assure the lockdown operation is not disrupted and that
In the meantime, the Police Officers who tested positive are being isolated at hotels as they cannot go back to their families due to exposure concerns.
He concluded by commending the Police Officers for their hard work and for not being discouraged by the rapid spread of the covid community cases.
According to Auapa’au, the increasing number of Police Officers affected, while concerning but at the moment they have enough manpower to assure the orders of the State of Emergency are followed and adhered to by members of the public.
