Prior to returning to Samoa, Vaovasamanaia served in the Honolulu Police Department.
“Vaovasa retired in 2017 but he continued to extend his service with the Police and that speaks volumes about the commitment he had to his calling as a law enforcer. He’s one of a kind,” said Auapa’au.
He started at the Samoa Police Service in the 1990s and retired recently. Vaovasamanaia was laid to rest at his village of Vaotoomuli Savaii.
