The Public Service Commission have advertised the Commissioner of the Electoral Office position five months after Faimalomatumua Matthew Lemisio resigned from his position and opted for the Deputy President of the Lands and Titles Court.
“The Public Service Commission, on behalf of the Government of Samoa, invites applications from qualified applicants for the following Chief Executive Officer position Commissioner of the Electoral Office.”
Potential applicants have until 5 May 2022 to submit their application, says the PSC Special Advertisement.
“They must complete all requirements of the Application Package and that all incomplete applications will not be considered.”
Last December, Faimalomatumua was sworn in as the Deputy President despite instructions by Minister of Justice and Courts Administration, Matamua Vasati Pulufana for the Lands and Titles Court not to go through with the ceremony.
The Minister said that in the absence of enabling provisions in the LTC Act 2020 the Komisi cannot exercise its powers to appoint, remove or suspend any Judges of the LTC.
The President of the Lands and Titles Court, Fepulea’i Atilla Ropati had since filed an application seeking the Supreme Court to validate the swearing-in.
