Nonu Lemauga Saleimoa Vaai has been appointed Chairman of the Public Service Commission.
He fills the vacant position that was held by the Chair of the Public Service Commission, Lauano Vaosa Epa whose time office ended last week.
Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa announced Nonu’s appointment during a press conference last week.
Nonu was first appointed as one of the Public Service Commissioners last year October. Nonu’s linked in profile says he is an experienced Human Resources Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the human resources industry.
Skilled in Negotiation, Coaching, Compensation, Team Building, and HR Policies. Strong human resources professional with a Graduate Diploma focused in Business Administration from the University of South Australia.
The PSC is the body responsible for regulating the proper conduct and neutrality of the nation’s civil servants.
Nonu also served as Chairman of the Samoa Competition & Consumer Commission (SCCC).
He also served on the Liquor Board back in 2015. Prime Minister Fiame on Friday said the Governments aims is to fill all the vacant positions given the important mandates the PSC carries out on the daily basis.
