Cabinet members have confirmed that a Public Service Commission investigation report into severe allegations against the Ministry of Women & Social Development Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mema Motusaga, is now before Cabinet.

It is unclear at the moment as to the nature of the allegations. Radio Polynesia repeatedly tried to get comments from Dr. Motusaga and the Minister for Women & Social Development, Leota Laki Lamositele Sio, but were unsuccessful.

Dr. Motusaga was appointed in March. She worked with the Pacific Community, formerly the South Pacific Commission, an international development organization governed by 27 members, including 22 Pacific island countries and territories. It is a principal scientific and technical organization in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947.

Dr. Motusaga advocates for women’s equality and has experience as a project management professional with a Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. focused in Gender Studies and Community Development from Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia.
