In line with Father’s day this Sunday, the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour noted that in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays Act 2008, the public, government agencies, and the private sector are hereby advised that Monday 14th August 2023 is to be treated as a Public Holiday to celebrate Father’s Day 2023
Businesses may open during a Public Holiday in accordance with the provisions of the Public Holidays Act 2008.
Further, employers are advised to comply with relevant provisions under the Labour and Employment Relations Act 2013 regarding payment of Public Holiday pay.
