It is now going on eight months since Auditor and Comptroller Fuimaono Camillo Afele confirmed the Audit reports submitted to Parliament as per laws are up to date. However, the available Government audit reports are still the financial year 2018-2019.

Radio Polynesia has been following up on the status of the Audit Reports since January and it is now August, but to no avail.

The last time the Auditor General responded to our queries was eight months ago, follow up emails with the latest this week remains unanswered.

The process of audit reports it only becomes public once it is tabled in Parliament.

In January, Fuimaono Camillo Afele said Audit reports submitted to Parliament as per laws are up to date.

Fuimaono told Radio Polynesia the Samoa Audit Office submitted three reports to the new Parliament XVII for 2020 and 2021 last year; however, it has not been made public yet.

The Chief Auditor was responding to Radio Polynesia’s questions over concerns raised by the public that it’s now 2023, and the Audit report available publicly is from four years ago.
