The Samoa Government have confirmed they are “eagerly awaiting the official announcement from the New Zealand Government on their proposed Visa-free entry for Samoans”.
New Zealand’s Immigration Minister Michael Wood confirmed that he hoped to have the change signed off within the next couple of months, Savali reported.
According to the new reports, the intended free visa entry is designed to cover those travelling often, including for business and diplomatic purposes Immigration Minister Wood confirmed he hoped to have the change signed off within the next couple of months.
The change would mean those travellers would end up on a rolling visa allowing them to bypass having to reapply each time they visit New Zealand.
Senior Government officials on the local front have confirmed that Wellington had informed the Government of the proposed free entry arrangements but cannot comment further on the record due to long-standing policies until authorized by Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa who’s also the Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister, mum is the word.
