The second booster shot is now available for members of the public, this was confirmed by Acting Director General of Health, Tagaloa Dr. Robert Thomsen, during a press conference yesterday.

However, Tagaloa said the only people who are encouraged to get their second booster are the front-line workers and people with underlying conditions.

“There is no urgency for members of the public to get their second booster shots”.

But said members of the public are welcome to get their second booster if they wish to do as these are some of the requirements for travel in other parts of the world like Europe.

The Acting DG continues to urge those that did not get their first and second Covid-19 vaccine to get their shots.

The latest data according to Tagaloa is that about 93.6 percent of the eligible population have completed their first and second doses from the age group of 18 years and older.

While the age group of 12-17 about 92.4 percent have completed their first two doses while 91.4 percent from the age group of 5-11 years old have already done their first and second doses.

Close to 80,000 have received their first booster shots.
