A female Senior Sergeant has been charged over the alleged assault of a male cop last year.
The matter is now before the court and the Senior Sergeant had since been placed on suspension pending the outcome of the criminal case.
Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo confirmed this with the media this week during a press conference, citing the complaint was lodged and was referred to the Police Special Unit that investigates alleged misconduct by Police Officers in the Ministry of Police and Prisons.
Auapa’au assured that no one is above the law and that in complaints against the men and women in blue, the courts will decide matters.
Adding that the outcome will determine the next action by the Ministry.
The Senior Sergeant is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
