The Samoa National Provident Fund yesterday celebrated a milestone with the dedication of its new $7.8 million office building at Salelologa.

Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa was the keynote speaker on this special occasion. Fiame congratulated the SNPF Board and Management for this achievement, noting that despite Covid-19 the project continued and met its deadline.

Twenty-eight years ago, the SNPF opened its branch in Savaii with only nine staff and moved around office spaces in Salelologa.

According to the Prime Minister in 2018 the SNPF board approved this project and leased land from the Samoa Land Corporation. In February, 2020 Cabinet approved the contract for this project with the groundbreaking in May 2020.

The project was built by Schwarz Construction in the amount of $7.8 million.

The two-story building consists of offices leased to the Bank of the South Pacific and the Immigration Office. On the second floor is a conference room.

The Prime Minister said this is in line with the 50 years of SNPF’s establishment in Samoa as well as the Country’s 60 years of independence.
