To date, more than $14.2 million have been distributed by the Samoa National Provident Fund to its member as part of its interim interest payout.
This is in line with the 50 years jubilee since the establishment of the Fund in the Country.
The SNPF allocated more than $40 million for this interim interest payout with three per cent to be released up until 27 of May and the last two per cent in December.
Chief Executive Officer, Pauli Prince Suhren also hinted at the possibility of another cash payout at end of the current finical year, where members normally will get other cash rewards, but that will be determined at the end of the budget for FY 2021-2022.
Pauli said during his announcement on the SNPF’s official Facebook page, more than 23,000 members have registered online and have received their payout.
There are more than 115,000 registered SNPF members but over 32,000 are active members.
Since the pandemic lockdown, the SNPF have encouraged its member to register and conduct their transactions online, such as entitlements and small loans, which can be done from any mobile device.
In goinh forward the CEO says the members who want the interim interest must register online as they are still not allowing anyone to make their request in person at the office but to use the online portal.
Adding the registration can be done at the SNPF offices, but the request for the payout has to be done online.
He said the SNPF is open for normal business at all their branches, therefore its normal services are now available throughout the week.
