The Samoa National Provident Fund will proceed with the celebration of its 50th jubilee which was commemorated on the 23 March. The delay was due to the Covid restrictions.
In doing so they will start with the thanksgiving service on the 1 July, the same day they will issue the final dividend payment.
This was confirmed by Chief Executive officer Pauli Prince Suhren in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
Pauli however did not divulge how much the percentage, but this is separate from the dividend paid in March this year.
He told Radio Polynesia yesterday via email there will also be a parade on the 14 July and a Jubilee ball scheduled on the 15 of July.
In March, the SNPF confirmed allocating $40 million marking the 50th Jubilee and gave back five percent whereas three percent will be distributed in cash and the rest will be distributed at the end of the year.
Also, a $50 tala will be added to the monthly pension checks for the eligible population which will amount to $250 tala.
The $50 tala will only be given out for the month of April as part of the SNPF jubilee’s payout, said the Minister.
The SNPF will also be making donations to 13 Non-profit organizations of $10,000 each which will be announced at a later date, said the Minister.
Adding this will amount to $130,000 allocated for the NGOs.
