A delegation from the People’s Republic of China met Speaker of the House Li’o Papalii Taeu Masipau, this week.
A statement released says the Chinese government’s special envoy for the Pacific Island Countries and to further strengthen its bilateral relations and exchange points of view on regional affairs including Pacific Island Forum cooperation.
The Speaker expressed his gratitude to the Government of the People’s Republic of China for their assistance in Samoa’s development, reaffirmed Samoa’s commitment to the One China Policy and urged for more cooperation between the Parliament of Samoa and the Government of China in the form of capacity building programs for its Members and staff.
The Speaker also expressed his delightfulness to lead a delegation to visit China in the forthcoming months.
