SVSG receives donation from Faith City United International

The beneficiaries of the support services provided by local organization, Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG), have been blessed by the missions of the Faith City United International movement, through financial, in kind donations as well as pastoral care.

A cheque of ST5,000 was presented to the SVSG President Siliniu Lina Chang, by the Faith City Liverpool Mission Pastors Tavaga and Sinu’u Talagi, Secretary Asiata Lagolago Selesele, Treasurer Fa’aesau Poasa Taoa’i and Café Ministry Leader Falemoe Tugaga, during their mission trip to Samoa. The kind donation came at a time when SVSG have been rallying support from the community for its Savings Lives Fundraising Campaign.

In addition, a container load of supplies and necessities was unloaded at the Campus of Hope shelter facility operated by SVSG for abused women and children.

The participants of the Advocacy Rehabilative Counselling Program provided by SVSG for offenders of violence referred from the Family Court, also benefited from the inspirational talk by Pastors Tavaga and Sinu’u Talagi.

The Church Secretary, Asiata Lagolago Selesele spoke on behalf of the Faith City United when presenting the donation, “All these things that we have given, its not our work, but its God’s work, this is only the beginning, we shall rely on God so that we may see you all again.”

According to Pastor Sinu’u, “we have had missions in West Papua, Indonesia and the Philippines and instead of going out there again, we thought it’s time to focus here, on our own people; as we saw the desperate need that there is here, and we will be back.”

SVSG Board Member Palepa Swanney Solaese was at the Campus to acknowledge the families, partners and sponsors of the Faith City Liverpool for putting together the donations for the beneficiaries of SVSG’s support services.
