Despite the community transmission of the omicron variant of theCOVID-19 in Samoa, the relaxation of some of the restrictions as per the government’s State of Emergency enabled the Samoa Victim Support Group to resume the rolling out its community prevention program, this time, at the Solosolo community.

The community prevention program to address children has now reached its fourth Module of the Positive Discipline for parents and the Life Skills Development for adolescent

The aim of the Program is to ensure that the safety of children remains a priority while developing a close relationship between parents and their children.

The participation from the parents and adolescents of Solosolo was an indication of the community’s support for the program, while providing a preliminary measure of the effectiveness of previous modules being delivered in the same community.

In compliance with the Alert Level 2 COVID restrictions, the number of participants was limited to 50 for parents and the same for adolescents, including social distancing and wearing masks.
