Australia resident Talalelei Pauga who’s been extradited and in custody at the Tanumalala Prison appeared in court on Monday and is seeking bail due to a medical condition.
Pauga is the third defendant in the conspiracy to murder former Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi of which two others have been sentenced to four years in jail.
He arrived in Samoa on Friday.
Ministry of Police and Prisons Officers flew to the Brisbane Airport to accompany Pauga from Australia.
Over the years, the Attorney General’s office fought to extradite Pauga, who is Samoan and failed in his attempt to have his case tried in the courts of Australia.
