Talofa Airways’ third aircraft is expected to land at Faleolo International Airport at 5 pm today. This was confirmed by Maria Hunter owner of Talofa Airways in an interview with Radio Polynesia.
She said the aircraft left Honolulu, Hawaii for Samoa earlier today and the plane is scheduled to make a stop at Christmas Island for refueling, then directly non-stop to Faleolo International Airport.
The Twin Commander 690B model is manned by pilot Thomas Lobex, Owner of Gateway Company in California, and Captain Jeffery Hunter, Chairman of Talofa Airways Company in Samoa.
The new Aircraft is the same as the other two in their fleet, said Mrs Hunter.
According to the owner, having the same fleet is much easier to maintain, and registration of the aircraft has been done.
“Having the same aircraft is much easier to handle given the similarities, and we’ve decided to continue on with the same kind.”
The additional aircraft means the airline would resume their flights between Samoa and Tonga or Pago Pago to Tonga.
Mrs. Hunter also confirmed their first fight to Tonga is scheduled for November 14, 2023.
