Ten scholarships available for MBBS

Ten scholarships are up for grabs for the School of Medicine for students studying for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree programme. 

The National University of Samoa (NUS) in conjunction with the Office of

the Public Service Commission is calling for applications for ten (10) scholarships tenable in 2023. 

The semester 1 Commencement date is Monday 6th February 2023 and the applicant must have successfully completed their foundation Certificate (Science) with a minimum aggregate passing grade of 80% in English and the best three from the following subjects; Biology; Human Biology; Chemistry and foundation Mathematics or equivalent. 

Furthermore, the minimum passing grade for English is 70%; or course of study equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a Health related discipline or a Bachelor of Science with a minimum GPA of 3.5. 

Also, the candidate who meets this criterion and also meets the cross credit requirements for the MBBS Year 1 will be eligible to commence from MBBS Year 2. 

Furthermore, students must meet qualifications acceptable to the Dean, Faculty of Health Science, as being equivalent to any of the above, and pass the interview facilitated by the Admission Committee.
