Three men deported from American Samoa, include convicted sex offenders

Three Samoa citizens were deported from American Samoa, two of which are convicted, sex offenders. 

The three men arrived in the Country last week, via the Lady Naomi ferry. 

This was confirmed by Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino in response to questions from Radio Polynesia. 

He said all three men served time and part of their probationary term or the remaining of their sentence will be served outside of the US territory hence the deportation. 

Adding the men had since been registered with the Returnees in addition to that the convicted sex offenders have registered with the Samoas Sex Offender registry that is manned by the Ministry of Police and Prisons. 

Auapa’au said they received the official correspondence from American Samoa regarding the deportees prior to their arrival in the Country. 

The men were confirmed to arrive in Samoa without a Police escort from the American Samoa Department of Public Safety.
