Too early to make projection on “point of the peak” for covid

The Ministry of Health says it is too early to make projections as to when the point of the peak will be for the covid in Samoa as there are a number of factors.

Deputy Director General, Tagaloa Dr Robert Thomsen said environmental factors can influence the point of the peak.

In an interview with Radio Polynesia, Medical Dr, Toleafoa Viali Lameko agreed, saying that it is difficult to make projections now since it is only three weeks of testing. 

Experienced from other countries, before a vaccine was available, it took about 4 to 5 months to reach a peak, followed by a tail, extending over a few months.
