Cabinet over the weekend confirmed the appointment of Tuiafelolo Alexander John Stanley as new Electoral Commissioner of the Office of the Electoral Commission.
The appointment comes 12 months after the position was vacant when Faimalomatumua Matthew Lemisio resigned from office to open his private practice.
According to the statement, for 30 plus years, Tuiafelolo has served in various capacities in the areas of the Public Service Commission (PSC), National Health Services, the Labor Department, and currently at the Electric Power Corporation (EPC) as Manager Corporate Governance.
He has excellent skills in human resource management as well as in corporate planning, including setting goals and identifying clear and practical activities to achieve the goals.
He had a thorough understanding of the Electoral Act 2019 and related legislation, as well as the need for the Office of the Electoral to make independent decisions.
Tuiafelolo Alexander John Stanley holds a Master in Business Administration in
Management and Public Administration, a Diploma in Public Sector Management, and Diploma in Education. His appointment is for five years.
