As of the past 48 hours, the Ministry of Health reported two new COVID-19 related deaths taking the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to nine.
“The deceased were females one aged 90 and one at 63.”
The Ministry of Health says that out of respect for the families and relatives, they will not be making any further comments.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health confirmed 427 new community cases, 12 cases in managed isolation and three critical cases in ICU at the Moto’otua Hospital.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases since community transmission was detected on March 17, stands at 4,029.
The cumulative number of Rapid antigen testing conducted as of 4 April 2022 was 32,653.
“Members of the public are again reminded to remain vigilant and take heed of public health advice to get vaccinated, stay home and isolate if you are feeling unwell, mask up and ensure good personal hygiene. Vaccination remains the best defence against COVID-19 pandemic.”
According to the Ministry of Health the total number of COVID-19 positive cases admitted to TTM hospital since community transmission on March 17, 2022 amounts to 123 admissions and 99 cases were discharged.
