Team Samoa marched with pride amongst 19 other countries of the Pacific, at the official opening of the 11th Pacific Mini Games last Friday evening.

After the first five days of the Tennis tournament, Eleanor Schuster has progressed to quarterfinals in the Women’s Singles, facing Team PNG’s Violet Apisah. Women’s Double Team, Mahinarangi Warren and Eleanor Schuster, has also made it to the quarterfinals against Raulerson and Heras of Team Northern Marianas. Both our Mixed Double Teams have successfully advanced to the second round, with the Men’s doubles Leon Soonalole and Kristen Pavitt playing their first round today.

Weightlifting and Beach Volleyball tournaments kicked off yesterday, leaving Athletics and Golf to begin today, Tuesday 21st June 2022.
All our selected weightlifters were verified at the Weightlifters verification meeting that was held on Saturday 19th June 2022, and are all good to compete.

They are well ready to lift this week as the weightlifting competition proceeds. Team Samoa are all doing well in Saipan, and continue to extend gratitude to all the people of Samoa for their endless prayers and support.

They are well taken care of by the Samoan community in Saipan, who hosted Team Samoa on Sunday for Mass and Toonai. Faafetai le
