A woman has been injured as a result of the shooting in Fogapoa Savaii.
“She is the wife of the 18-year-old male who died as a result of the shooting,” said Deputy Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
This is the latest development, from the deadly shooting in Savaii.
As first reported by Radio Polynesia, a man and his son were shot dead Thursday evening, as a result of a land dispute in the village.
“The woman attempted to protect her husband when and as a result, she was shot and sustained injuries on her arm,” said the Deputy Police Commissioner.
Adding the pistol used in the shooting is illegal in the Country and is banned under Samoan laws. The gun had since been turned over to the Ministry of Police and Prisons.
In the meantime, the accused in his 50’s has been transported from Savaii to Upolu and will be taken to Tanumalala prison.
