The latest marine observations recorded wave heights above the marine advisory threshold of 2.5 metres, says the latest weather report from the meteorology office.
Such is due to an intensified high-pressure system over New Zealand that continues to induce fresh to strong trade winds, thus generating high waves and swells over Samoa.
The winds are expected to further strengthen by Wednesday and could possibly elevate wave heights to the warning threshold. Hence, if conditions remain, the issuance of a Marine Warning is likely for Wednesday.
Potential Impacts:
Rough seas and gusty winds.
